South Africa registered a massive 328-run victory in the first Test against Zimbabwe to take 1-0 lead in the two match series. Chasing 537, Zimbabwe were bowled out for only 208 on the fourth day of the Test match to suffer a huge defeat at the hands of the reigning World Test Champion. Lhuan-dre Pretorius who hit a fantastic 159 in the first innings and Corbin Bosch who took a fifer in the second innings to follow up on his century in the first were the two stars for South Africa. Zimbabwe had already lost opener Takudzwanashe Kaitano at the score of 32 when the play was called off for the third day. Bosch then ran through the top and middle order on the fourth day to condemn Zimbabwe to a massive loss. Only captain Craig Ervine and Wellington Masakdza offered some resistance. Masakdza scored 57 while Ervine got out to Bosch on 49. Sean Williams, the centurion for Zimbabwe in the first innings, scored 26 and Blessing Muzarabani scored 32 not out but Zimbabwe were bowled out for 208.
