Nneka Ogwumike was honored for the 10th time in her career, and rookie Paige Bueckers got the nod when the WNBA announced the starters for its All-Star game on Monday.

Ogwumike, who is averaging 17.0 points and 7.9 rebounds for the Seattle Storm this season, became just the fifth player with 10 or more All-Star appearances.

Tamika Catchings and Brittney Griner also have 10 All-Star selections, trailing Diana Taurasi’s 11 and Sue Bird’s 13.

Bueckers, who was drafted No. 1 overall by the Dallas Wings, is the 10th rookie who was voted as an All-Star starter. Caitlin Clark was a starter last season, and Aliyah Boston started in 2023.

Bueckers is averaging 18.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists in her rookie season out of UConn.

Napheesa Collier – the league’s leading scorer at 24.4 points per game – and Clark were previously named captains for the All-Star game. They will draft their teams from the remaining starters and the reserves, who are voted in by the coaches.

A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart were also selected as starters, marking the seventh All-Star appearance for both former MVPs.

Sabrina Ionescu, Allisha Gray, Satou Sabally and Boston will round out the starters.

The WNBA will have its All-Star game on July 19 in Indianapolis.
