India captain Shubman Gill lost the toss and was made to bat first by his opposite number, England skipper Ben Stokes, in the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series. India made three changes to their playing XI, bringing in Sai Sudharsan for Karun Nair, Shardul Thakur for Nitish Reddy, and Anshul Kamboj for Akash Deep.
Haryana's 24-year-old Kamboj thus made his India debut, picked ahead of fellow seamer Prasidh Krishna. Kamboj received his Test cap from former India wicket-keeper Deep Dasgupta.
England had named their playing XI a couple of days in advance, with the injured Shoaib Bashir making way for the 35-year-old Liam Dawson, who returns to Test cricket after an eight-year gap.
