In an interview with Extra, the filmmaker said, "I follow Adria on Instagram, but everybody came out [and thought], ‘He just followed her, that means she’s Wonder Woman'. She’d be a great Wonder Woman, by the way."

The 58-year-old director further said that Adria Arjona was in a movie that he made seven years ago. He was referring to 2016 film, The Belko Experiment. He said they have been friends and have known each other since then. "I followed her then, I didn’t just follow her. People just notice these things all the time," he added.
