Aamir Khan on religion
In an interview with The Lallantop, while discussing religion, Aamir Khan said when he meets people, he doesn’t see their religion, he just sees the person. He called religion a "dangerous topic" which he avoids discussing in public. "It is also a very personal thing to each and every individual. I respect people from all religions and the way they follow their religious paths," he shared.
Mr Perfectionist also revealed that the teachings of Guru Nanak have influenced him. He also spoke about his own guru, Sucheta Bhattacharjee, for shaping his spiritual growth.
Aamir Khan desires to play Lord Krishna
Aamir also expressed his admiration for Lord Krishna and wants to play the Hindu God. "It is very difficult to explain the impact that Lord Krishna has had on me. It is a very deep philosophy, whatever his stories teach us, what the Bhagavad Gita tells us about him. He is a very complete person. This is what I feel about him," he said.
The 60-year-old also added, "I do wish to play Lord Krishna on screen. Let’s see if that could be possible."
Recently, Aamir spoke about his dream project, Mahabharat. On Raj Shamani's podcast, he said he will start working on it after the release of Sitaare Zameen Par. "I feel like that’s one project which, once I’ve done it, might leave me with the feeling that there’s nothing more I can do after that," he said.
The Laal Singh Chaddha star also called it's "layered, emotional, vast in scale, and full of grandeur" and "everything that exists in the world can be found in Mahabharat."
Who knows we might see Aamir playing Lord Krishna in the upcoming magnum opus.
