Mirra Andreeva recovered from a set down to beat Clara Tauson and reach the quarter-finals of the Bad Homburg Open on Wednesday.

Mirra Andreeva's last grasscourt win was against Anastasia Potapova in the third round of Wimbledon in 2023. Her reward for the latest victory is a last-eight meeting with Linda Noskova, against whom she holds a 3-1 lead in the head-to-head
The third seed fell behind to 23rd-ranked Tauson, who seized her only break point opportunity of the opening set in the sixth game.
But Andreeva came roaring back in the second set, when she won 80% of points on her first serve and 75% when forced into a second serve, to force a decider.
Tauson appeared to tire at that stage, and the floodgates opened when Andreeva won a marathon third game against her opponent's serve.
That was the first of three straight breaks for Andreeva, who will face Linda Noskova for a semi-final place following her 3-6 6-3 6-1 success.
All four matches to take place in Germany on Wednesday went to three sets, with Noskova beating Donna Vekic 2-6 6-2 6-4 to book her own place in the last eight.
Meanwhile, seventh seed Elina Svitolina was beaten 3-6 6-4 7-6 (9-7) by Beatriz Haddad Maia, but eighth seed Ekaterina Alexandrova overcame Maria Sakkari 6-3 6-7 (2-7) 6-3.
Data Debrief: Andreeva ends long drought
Andreeva's victory was long in the making – she had been winless on grass in nearly two years, having beaten Anastasia Potapova in the third round of Wimbledon in 2023.
She fell at the first hurdle at Wimbledon last year, going out to Dayana Yastremska as she went 0-2 on grass in 2024.
Her reward for Wednesday's triumph is a last-eight meeting with Noskova, against whom she holds a 3-1 lead in the head-to-head.
