Mondo Duplantis is back in action. He had a slow start, missing his first attempt at 5.62m, but quickly found his rhythm and cleared the next two heights. After setting a stunning world record of 6.28m just last week, all eyes are on him once again to see if he’ll go even higher tonight. We’ll keep you updated as the event progresses.

Something’s off with Mondo Duplantis tonight. He’s just missed again at 5.92m, a height comfortably cleared by Emmanouil Karelis on his first attempt.

Australia’s Kurtis Marshall also couldn’t get over 5.92m, but both he and Mondo have decided to skip their final attempts. Marshall is gambling on a personal best at 5.97m, while Mondo, visibly frustrated, is left stewing over two unexpected misses well below his usual heights. It’s tense on the runway, and very unlike the world record holder.

He’s finally back in rhythm. After a shaky start, Mondo Duplantis responds in style, soaring over 5.97m with ease and plenty of space to spare.

Karelis and Marshall both falter on their first attempts at the height. Marshall fails all three and bows out, while Karelis recovers just in time, clearing 5.97m on his final go. And just like that, it's down to two. Duplantis is back on track, and the battle moves to the next bar.

The men’s javelin event has kicked off at the 2025 Ostrava Golden Spike, taking place at the Mestsky Stadion in Ostrava-Vitkovice, Czech Republic.

It’s not the ideal beginning for the world champion, as Neeraj Chopra opens his campaign in Ostrava with a foul on his first attempt. He’ll be looking to settle in quickly with five throws still to come.

Neeraj Chopra has surged into the lead with a solid third attempt, registering 85.29m to climb to the top of the leaderboard. Anderson Peters, meanwhile, manages 82.13m and holds on to third place behind Neeraj and South Africa’s Smit.

The fourth round is underway with a reversed throwing order, but leader Neeraj Chopra will still throw last. So far, throwers ranked 5 to 9 have completed their attempts, and none have challenged the top four. Thomas Röhler records a foul on his fourth effort.

Neeraj Chopra wraps up Round 4 with a steady throw of 82.17m, keeping himself firmly at the top of the standings. While not as big as his third-round effort of 85.29m, still the best of the competition, it’s a solid follow-up as the event heads into the final two rounds.
