Wimbledon Day 5 Highlights: Alcaraz Advances; Osaka, Keys Knocked Out

Yuki Bhambri is the only Indian player in action today. The 3-year-old will pair up with China’s Xinyu Jiang and face the USA’s Christian Harrison and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in the second round of mixed doubles at Court 16. The match will start after 8:00 PM IST.

Wimbledon 2025 will be live-streamed in India on the JioHotstar app and website, while television broadcast will be on the Star Sports Network channels.

Carlos Alcaraz will be in action in Round 3 of men's singles against world No. 125 Jan-Lennard Struff at Centre Court. The match will start at 8:00 PM IST. However, the timings are subject to change.

Aryna Sabalenka will be in action in Round 3 of women's singles against British No. 1 Emma Raducanu at Centre Court. The match will start at 10:00 PM IST. However, the timings are subject to change.

12th seed Amanda Anisimova has started well against Hungary's Dalma Galfi, winning the first set 6-3. Despite trailing 2-0 at one point, the American had a terrific comeback, winning five points on a trot to take the first set.

World No. 53 Naomi Osaka has dominated world No. 50 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the first set of their women's singles encounter, winning it 6-3. Despite a mid-set push back by the Russian, Osaka did well to hold off the 34-year-old.

Pavlyuchenkova has fought back against Osaka, taking the second set 4-3 to tie the clash.

Meanwhile, the match between Solana Sierra and Cristina Bucsa has been stopped with the Argentina leading after winning the first set to due to a brief medical timeout.

Galfi has stunned Anisimova in the second set, winning it 7-5. The Hungarian tied 5-5 at point, but won two points on a trot to snatch the second set.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova used all her experience to get the better of Osaka in the deciding set, winning 6-4 to knock the Japanese player out. She wins 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Despite her brave fight, Anisimova’s quality was too much for Galfi to stop, and the American wins the deciding set 6-3 to emerge as the third-round victor. She finishes 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.

Meanwhile, Sierra has defeated Bucsa 7-5, 1-6, 6-1.

Andrey Rublev and Taylor Fritz are in action right now in their respective men's singles matches. Fritz is up against Alejandro Fokina Davidovich while Rublev is facing Adrian Mannarino. The games have just begunn with Fritz and Rublev taking early leads.

Taylor Fritz has won the first set of his match against Alejandro Fokina Davidovich. Fritz wraps it up 6-4 in his favour. Andrey Rublev too has won his first set against Adrian Mannarino. Rublev was stretched a little but managed to win 7-5.

Another seeded player seems to be on their way out. Madison Keys, seeded eighth for the tournament, is in deep, deep trouble against Laura Siegemund. Ranked 108th, Siegemund won the first set 6-3 and is now leading the second set 4-1.

Eighth seed Madison Keys has been knocked out in another upset at the All England Club. A big win for Laura Siegemund who has outplayed Keys and earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Andrey Rublev is through to the Round of 16. He earns a sraight-set win over Adrian Mannarino to reach the next round. Rublev won 7-5, 6-2, 6-3 and will now await his next opponent.

Taylor Fritz too is through to the Round of 16. He had it hard way but he manages to come out on top against Alejandro Fokina Davidovich. Fritz won the first two sets but lost the third before bouncing back to win the fourth set and the match.

After a long wait we are underway at the Centre Court. Carlos Alcaraz vs Jan-Lennard Struff, Wimbledon men's singles round three game now begins.

Carlos Alcaraz has won the first set of his third round match against Jan-Lennard Struff. As easy as it gets for Alcaraz who wins the opening set 6-1.

Carlos Alcaraz has been shocked in the second set and after a 1-6 drubbing in the opening set, Jan-Lennard Struff bounces back to claim the second set 6-3.

Carlos Alcaraz wins the third set and sets up a good game for himself. Alcaraz wins the third set 6-3 to bounce back into the match.

We could be in for another five-settter with Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard is being stretched to his limits once again tonight.

Carlos Alcaraz is through to the Round of 16. Jan-Lennard Struff has been beaten but not before he has put up a strong fight. Alcaraz wins 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

All the action from the men's singles competition for today is over. But the women's singles event does have a game left and that too a big one. Aryna Sabalenka will be against Emma Raducanu.

Aryna Sabalenka is now on the court and is up against Emma Raducanu. World number one up against British number one. A big game awaits.

Sabalenka vs Raducanu third round match wil be live-streamed on the JioHotstar website and app platforms, and the broadcast will be available on the Star Sports network.

Aryna Sabalenka clinches the first set but it was really, really close and could have gone anywhere. Emma Raducanu would not be too happy with the end result but she would hope she can continue her good work.
