Thomas Frank said his sole aim was to take Tottenham Hotspur to "new heights" ahead of his first game in charge of the club.
Frank spoke to the media for the first time since being unveiled as Ange Postecoglou's successor in north London just over a month ago.
The 51-year-old takes over a Spurs team that lifted their first major European trophy in 40 years with their Europa League triumph, but endured a difficult Premier League campaign.
Tottenham were beaten 4-1 on the final day of the 2024-25 season by Brighton, a result that saw them end the term in 17th, their lowest top flight finish since 1976-77.
They also lost 26 games in all competitions, their most in a single campaign in the club's history. Tottenham were also defeated 22 times in a league season for only the second time since 1934-35.
During Frank's seven-year stint with Brentford, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy sacked five different managers, including the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.
The Dane said that Postecoglou would "forever be a legend here" for his Europa League success, but his dismissal reflected the ruthlessness of how the club operates.
"Only five?! I like to challenge myself and I have never been sacked before. That's one reason I took the job, to get more risk into my daily life," Frank quipped.
"Coming to a big club, there is pressure. We need to perform. It's me, the staff and the players. We have to do it together.
"I like the ambitions and everything I do, every decision I make so far, is not about surviving one game or one year. It is for the long-run.
"I will do everything, every day, to work towards taking this club to new heights. That is the ambition.
"If I was not ambitious, I would not sit here. I am looking forward to it."
One way in which Tottenham are aiming to combat last season's struggles is by bringing in several summer signings ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Mohammed Kudus, Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai have all joined the club, while Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso, who were on loan at Spurs last year, have joined permanently.
Spurs have also been linked with a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, though Nuno Espirito Santo's side are considering action against Tottenham.
Gibbs-White was expected to complete a medical with Spurs after they activated his £60m release clause, but Forest believe they approached the midfielder illegally.
And when asked about a potential move for the England international, Frank chose not to speak about the situation.
"I will not speak about players who are not mine. I think I have two exceptions and they are getting older – (Cristiano) Ronaldo and (Lionel) Messi," Frank said.
"The rest I will just speak about the players who are inside Tottenham."
Frank will take charge of his first game in the Tottenham dugout in a pre-season friendly with League One side Reading on Saturday.
His first competitive match comes in the UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain on August 13.
