Dhanush Starts Shooting For His Upcoming Film D54 With Vignesh Raja; First Look Poster Unveiled

After basking in the success of Kuberaa, Dhanush is back at work. He has kickstarted shooting for his 54th feature film, which is tentatively titled D54. The filming started today with a pooja ceremony.

On Thursday, the production banner shared pictures from the pooja ceremony where Dhanush and the team can be seen in traditional outfits.

The movie is being helmed by Por Thozhil fame director Vignesh Raja, and is backed by Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International. G V Prakash Kumar is scoring the music for the upcoming project.

"Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive. #D54 starring @dhanushkraja - On floors from today," Vels Film International wrote alongside a poster of the film.

"The much awaited journey starts off #D54 starring @dhanushkraja - Shoot begins today with a pooja. Produced by @dr.isharik.ganesh @VelsFilmIntl. A film by @vignesh_raja A @gvprakash Musical (sic)," the makers wrote sharing pics from the pooja ceremony.

Ganesh, in a statement, said, "It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with exceptional talent like Dhanush, Vignesh Raja and GV Prakash. At Vels Film International, we strive to bring meaningful and entertaining cinema to audiences, and this film is truly special. We’re excited to see this vision come alive and can’t wait to share more with the fans soon."

The official film's title and other details of the film are yet to be announced.

Dhanush was recently seen in Sekhar Kammula's Kuberaa, which also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna and Jim Sarbh. The social thriller earned Rs 87.37 crore nett in India, in 20 days.

The National award-winning also has Tere Ishq Mein, with Aanand L Rai. The film mark his third collaboration with the filmmaker after Raanjhanaa (2013) and Atrangi Re (2021).

He will also play former Indian president and aerospace scientist APJ Abdul Kalam in the upcoming biopic titled, Kalam: The Missile Man of India, which will be directed by Om Raut.
