Tajon Buchanan has joined Villarreal on a permanent deal from Inter, following a promising loan spell with the club last season.

The 26-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the LaLiga side and will immediately join the squad’s pre-season training camp.

Buchanan made 13 appearances for the Yellow Submarine during his loan spell in the second half of the 2024-25 season, scoring once and registering two assists.

He previously spent time with the New England Revolution in MLS before enjoying a spell with Club Brugge in Belgium.

The winger has also made 51 appearances for Canada, playing all three of their matches at the 2022 World Cup, and he recently scored three times in their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign.

Buchanan won the 2023-24 Serie A title with Inter, along with the 2023 Supercoppa Italiana trophy, but he found regular minutes difficult to come by at San Siro.

He told the club's media channels: "Villarreal is an incredible club that deserves to play in the Champions League. I am very happy to return here.

"I am happy and excited to play in the Champions League. I want to prove that I am capable of returning to my best level in one of the biggest competitions in the world."
