Sardaar Ji 3's producers released a statement on Tuesday, where they defended their decision to cast Hania. They clarified that the movie was shot before the "prevailing situation that our country is facing now" and they didn't cast any Pakistani actor after the Pahalgam terror attack. The makers further said that they stand in solidarity with India and are not releasing or promoting the film in India, because of the current situation between India and Pakistan.

The statement read: "This is to bring to everyone’s kind notice that the film named, Sardaarji 3, was shot well before the prevailing situation that our country is facing now and it was never ever the case that any Pakistani artist was signed or was engaged after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam."

It further read, "We stand united with our country and our fellow countrymen during this sensitive time. Considering the same, we had decided not to release the film or any of its promotional content in India until the situation becomes opportune."

Sardaar Ji 3, also starring Neeru Bajwa, is releasing overseas on June 27, 2025. Diljit and Neeru are busy promoting the film abroad. In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Diljit spoke about releasing the film internationally and not in India. He also shared his experience about working with Hania.

Diljit Dosanjh said when the film was shot in February, everything was fine back then. After that, a lot of big things happened which were beyond everyone's control. So the producers decided that Sardaar Ji 3 won’t be released in India now, but it will release overseas. The Punjabi singer also said that the producers have invested a lot of money, and they know there will be a loss because it won't release now in an entire territory. He also added that when he signed the film, everything was fine. Now, as the producers want to release it abroad, he supports their decision.
